New Generation Care clay day
Last Friday I took clay, tools and a few helpers down to New Generation Care in Byfleet for what is becoming an annual “play with clay day”. The starting point was to make wind chimes and the group developed this with their own ideas to make some very imaginative and unique pieces. They spent a couple of… Continue reading New Generation Care clay day
Salthouse Gallery exhibition at St Ives
The Salthouse Gallery in St Ives is at first look an unprepossessing space for an art gallery. However, it is adaptable, easy to fill, well-lit and an inviting prospect to passers-by, located on a busy thoroughfare near to the centre of town. Rented out by the week, it hosts many individual artists and artist groups… Continue reading Salthouse Gallery exhibition at St Ives
St Ives Salthouse Gallery exhibition now ended
Back from St Ives after another successful week at the Salthouse Gallery. Here are most of the group (minus Ann, Ian and Chris) plus a couple of guests, outside the gallery before closing up last Saturday to go out and celebrate Jeremy’s birthday. No need to adjust your monitor, there really is a purple tinge to the group…. More… Continue reading St Ives Salthouse Gallery exhibition now ended

The “Throw a Pot” Marquee was manned by five of us, Ruby Sharp (leader), Eddie Kent, Steve Ellis, Lutz Krainhoefner and myself. They are talented potters and… Continue reading “Throw a Pot” at Art in Clay, Hatfield House
Chiltern Arts Festival, 28-29 June
I spent this weekend at Chiltern Open Air Museum for the Chiltern Arts Festival. Richard and I set up a glazing workbench and the Raku kiln which enabled us to produce more animal sculptures as well as demonstrate the process to onlookers. Although the mixed weather – thundery showers punctuated with some sunshine – may… Continue reading Chiltern Arts Festival, 28-29 June

Bucks Open Studios 2014 now finished
Open Studios was great fun. We were blessed with glorious weather, so were able to fire up the kiln for Raku every day we were open. Our visitors were interesting and interested in what we were doing – how lovely! Some highlights of the event were sculptures set up in the garden, raku guinea fowl – pictures… Continue reading Bucks Open Studios 2014 now finished
