This was hand built (not thrown on the wheel) over the Bucks Open Studios weeks earlier this year, using coils of clay. It has been decorated with oxides and glaze. The design was influenced by classic Greek and Egyptian pottery. The leaf sprig was made using a real leaf to imprint the clay.
The jar stands at approximately 50cm in height. Firing was to 1240°C with a 30 minute soak. It can therefore be used both indoors or outdoors.
